Fine Art Food Photography
Editorial Food Photography
I believe the difference between Fine Art and Editorial food photography is that Fine art does not suggest that you are going to eat the food, but it allows you to appreciate certain aspects of the subject. As seen on the left, I believe that the photo is trying to get you to look at the texture and color of the blackberries, and on the right, I believe that the photo is making you want to eat those nice pancakes.
What I learned for Carrie Minns:
I learned to always take pictures of the subject as a whole before physically altering it, because you will not have that opportunity again. Also I now know that you can make anything beautiful, which is why I have decided to do all of my Fine Art Photography on raw seafood, like octopus, which some people think is disgusting.
